Our client is looking for a Director of Finance in their corporate headquarters in Whatcom County, WA. You will own the entire finance department, including accounting, reporting directly to the President. There are 10 people on your team. You are engaged in the business, helping with the improvements in the business. While they are an established leader in their industry, there is still opportunity for improvement. You & your team will own the day-to-day functions of finances of the company which includes an inventory component. One of the company’s goals is to overhaul their financial systems for their orders, products, and accounting data. They want to be fully digitized. You will have the opportunity be a part of that selection as well as implementation.
You have the ability to work with the tried and true ideals but also work on innovative, out-of-the box solutions. You will be able to accomplish a lot because you have the support of the company.

How will you get there?
30 days:
Meet with the business line leaders as well as your team
Understand the roles, responsibilities & strength of your team
Introduced to the various inventory products & how your finance team reports on them
90 days:
Understand the various products
Own the entire financial process
Provide appropriate information to balance to the penny
Fully aware of procurement & payment of products
6 months:
Established departmental budgets
Auditing budget in place
Tracking incentives, audit for accuracy
Understand new product offerings, offering credit to customers
A/R is fully automated
Yearly audit is in place, prepared for it
Accounting process is fully digitized
What you will need:
5-7 years of financial leadership experience with a solid understanding of basic tenants of accounting & accounting principals
CPA required
Strong Excel skills
Not afraid to get hands-on when needed, teaming attitude
Experience working with a privately held company
Inventory business, understand the financials of having
Success partnering with external audit firms
Ability to work in the U.S.
