Our client is looking for a President to run the company. They are looking for a motivated, strong leader to work with the entire company and Board to provide exemplary leadership. You will establish both short and long-term goals, preside over the workforce, manage budgets, ensure proper allocation of resources, and ensure all departments meet their goals. Needless to say, this is a very visible, influential, and coveted opportunity. You will manage and develop your team. This includes the health and safety of the team. You will protect the company's assets and resources. You oversee the corporate sales and operational facilities for their 4 locations in the Pacific Northwest. You will have the opportunity to help restructure the team that will align with their expansion goals. You will help position the company to expand, enter into emerging new markets, and help improve margins. This includes creating the 3-5 year strategic roadmap. There is a lot of future potential in new markets for the company. No one does what they do; they have 3 distinct markets. Their competitors are in 1 or 2, not all 3. You report to the Board of Directors.

Culture and customer service are of the utmost importance to our client. Some of their employees have been there for 20-30 years. There are multi-generational families working at our client. Therefore, they have a culture that supports their employees. They go above and beyond. There are 130+ employees. They have a quality product and have captured regional and national markets. There is a lot of potential for expansion. Their brand is exceptional.

Fast forward a year. What will you be doing?

You are fully integrated into the company, your team, and the culture of the company. You have restructured the company to take advantage of its current talent pool, helping them achieve its goals while hiring additional talent. You have entered into new, emerging markets. You have improved the margins, bringing more in-house than was outsourced. You have started to position the company for the next 3-4 years, helping them increase their revenue streams pre-pandemic. You have expanded their business and talent in design and architecture. You have helped win new business. You are a signed vendor worldwide for a client.  You have been instrumental, in working with your leaders on re-establishing their culture post-pandemic. You have created and implemented the office plan of when and why employees are working in the office. You have received buy-in from the team on this new model. You have earned the trust of the team. You are happy and thriving as well as your team.

How will you get there?

30 days:

  • Get to know the owner, company, and culture

  • Dig into the financials to start to understand the financial health of the organization

  • Start to formulate SWOT analysis

  • Start to meet the team, schedule visits to all the plants

  • Start to understand the overall view and feel of the company

90 days:

  • Completed all the site visits; know the leaders and team for each facility

  • Understand the workings of the overall organization

  • 1:1 scheduled with the sales team to further understand their markets

  • Start to identify emerging markets

  • Understand the current customers

  • Involved in the day-to-day of the company operations

  • Identify strengths and gaps of the leadership

6 months:

  • Identified new market(s)

  • Completed reorganization strategy; start to implement

  • Identify how to achieve higher level margins

  • Know the financial health of the company

  • Understand your industry as well as competitors

  • Understand the market issues

What you will need:

  • Minimum of 15 years in operations, finance, and people management

  • Successfully led to top-line growth of a business or division

  • Proven track record of creating and executing long-term growth with multiple locations/facilities

  • Managed and mentored teams, helping them achieve their growth goals that align with the business goals

  • Manufacturing industry experience

  • Managed and ran P/L, understands how it impacts strategy and decision making

  • M&A experience

  • Demonstrated success modeling high emotional intelligence and ability to form and maintain strong professional relationships

  • Exceptional executive-level presence with strong people skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Sound judgment and ability to creatively solve problems

  • Lots of humility, a strong listener with high emotional intelligence
