Our client is looking for a VP of Sales for their Shade division for their corporate headquarters in Seattle. They are in the next evolution of the company; they are open to new ideas. If you have a plan that meets the business goals, they will provide you with the opportunity to work that plan. You will create the overall strategy for this division, grow a high performing, reputable, profitable team. You are part of the leadership team.

There is a lot of opportunity to continue to grow the business with existing accounts but also add new logos. Our client is already working with some of the biggest dealers. You will have the opportunity to determine if there is a better way to serve your customers and go-to market.

As the Director of Sales, you will have the ability to really make an impact with not only your Sales leaders but also the business’ bottom line. You will be managing a team of 12. This includes the sales team, the wholesale team and customer service. The team is performing well however with your expertise, you will help excel their careers. You will have full autonomy of your team. You have the partnership of a strong Marketing team that will support your efforts. The ideal leader will have a bias toward action with excellent following through and execution.

Fast forward a year, what will you be doing?

You know the industry and the dealer network. You have developed a growth plan, working toward it. You know your target deal. You can articulate the differences in their products. You & your team are fully functionally and have 100% user acceptance with Salesforce. You know the leading indicators and driving sales activities around customer acquisition and growth with existing dealers. You have built an efficient, high performing sales and customer service team. You have managed your team to intentional sales. They are not afraid to get on the phone and make new calls or visit new clients. Your team has grown existing accounts and well as won new business. You have defined the overall sales strategy for your team. You have forecasted sales by category. You are educating your existing customers on the other products of Our client. You have built successful relationships with your team as well as your customers. You are respected leader in the organization. You are a pleasure to work with. You are making a difference. You and your team are very happy. You are doing the right things; therefore, success has followed. 

How will you get there?

30 days:

  • Meet the leadership team as well as your team

  • You will start to understand their markets, products, team and competition

 90 days:

  • You have assessed the team and have created your sales plan

  • You have met your top 10 customers

  • You have defined your customer service KPI’s

  • You have met key clients as well as key prospects

  • You are working closely with marketing on developing additional material that will help support your business

  • You have defined and implemented customer-tiers based on revenue potential

  • You are working with other leaders of the company, partnering together to collectively grow the business

 6 months:

  • You have met all of their clients

  • Your sales activity metrics are defined and have implemented with the sales team

  • You fully understand all the product lines

  • Your Sales leaders have won a new client as well as grown existing clients

  • You are taking care of your team, have set them up for success and are a great mentor
