Our client is looking for a Chief Operating Officer, COO, for their corporate headquarters in Spokane Washington. This is a brand-new position that will support its continued successful growth in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Therefore, you’re stepping into a clean slate as well as have the support of the leadership team. You will report to the CEO. You will be the backbone of the company, helping to improve efficiencies and building processes that will help the business on their continued growth journey. You will be a key member to the Executive team. You will partner with the leadership team to help set direction and have a steadfast commitment to seeing it through. You will evaluate and assess the current state of operations and identify opportunities to increase their efficiencies.

You will create the strategy, then implement the programs that will allow for smooth operations of the company. This includes managing the team. You will work with the owners to set the company’s strategy and direction that align with their growth goals. You will create and build the company’s culture. This includes creating KPI’s to help the team drive to mutually agreed upon goals. You will manage and execute projects relating to Marketing, Client Experience, Human Resources and Firm Development. Their business has been growing exponentially so this is the right time to bring on a COO. Therefore, you will be instrumental identifying the operating infrastructure of the business. You will help create a culture of one of the best places to work.

Fast forward a year, what will you be doing?

You have implemented and improved operational effectiveness and efficiencies that align with the business goals. You have identified opportunities to increase efficiencies for their internal systems and organizational structure. You have developed a multi-year roadmap, metrics, and workflow to meet the needs of their growth goals. You have built a culture of accountability. You have a high performing team, and they are happy. You are a respected Executive in the company. You have made a difference, impacted the positive company culture. You are happy.

How will you get there?

30 days:

  • Partner with the owners to understand the business goals

  • Meet with Business teams to understand current firm organization and operations

  • Understand the company’s mission, vision, and values as well as culture characteristics

90 days:

  • You are rolling up your sleeves, starting to create the right processes

  • You are getting to know your team, identifying strengths and areas to improve

  • You are developing synergies within the team

  • You are starting to take projects off the owners’ plates

  • Learn more about the company history, key clients, and relationships

  • Evaluate and review new services and strategies to continue to help the company grow

6 months:

  • You fully understand the business and are immersed in it

  • You are building a strong culture

  • You have created the 1st draft of the organizational structure as well as client structure to include how they move through their system

  • Teams are accountable and working collaboratively across the organization to support the company and business needs
