Our client is looking for a Delivery Director to join their Seattle, WA-based U.S. Team. Our client is a leading digital transformation company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia. Partnering with several of the biggest names in technology (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, and Google, etc.), our client’s KPI-driven, multi-disciplinary delivery teams surpass business needs by specializing in solution-based architectures and implementation services. As Delivery Director, this is an exciting opportunity to lead, mentor, and coach a highly skilled team of 40+ technical experts. You will be responsible for ensuring customer deployment excellence through design and development of technical project strategies, policies, processes, and procedures. You are setting up customers for scalable success by building long-term team capacities and resolving conflicts through autonomy and purpose. You will provide performance reviews, training guidance, and make hiring decisions. You will leverage product development knowledge to influence roadmaps and successfully engage at a programmatic level. You will review and report on the finances and delivery operations for assigned projects and/or account(s) including project profitability and financial predictability. You will recognize risks posed by product development to the team and successfully negotiate alternatives. You are promoting the their brand and enhancing their culture of respect and inclusion, both internally and externally.
Fast forward a year. What will you be doing?
You are fully integrated into the company, your team, and their culture. You have delivery ownership for a world-renowned key account whose contracts with our client have reached $10M in revenues in 2022. You are on target to grow your account(s) 30% year over year. You have established trust and credibility with your customers. You have built a high-performing team of technical and delivery managers and developed and implemented best practices for running your account(s). You are heavily client-facing and able to quickly understand the operational challenges of your accounts and provide technical and service solutions. Your team is completely aligned to the needs of your customers and recognized as adding tremendous value as a unit vs. individual contributors. You are interfacing with other geographies and managing communication across different time zones. You have developed strong relationships with key vendors, external partners and managing vendor performance. What you will need
Minimum of 10 years of technical delivery consulting and people management experience; at least 5 years of sales engineering experience.
Proven track record of building software development teams in services or distributed delivery environments (not just product) across multiple regions and time zones.
Bachelor’s degree or greater in Computer Science or related field highly desired.
Deep understanding of technical software delivery with ability to quickly understand the challenges facing customers and solve with technical/service solutions.
Objective and practical communication skills having successfully led a collaborative and dynamic delivery process, including risk mitigation strategies and financial tracking.
Highly developed customer relations and service skills; build trusted relationships quickly and effectively; work in a collaborative manner with people at all levels.
